Our Staff: 

Penelope Gunning, RVT is a Registered Veterinary Technician.  She attended Foothill Community College where she received her Associate of Science Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2002.  Penelope was born and raised on the Coastside and resides on the coast with her husband, Corey.  Penelope enjoys spending time with her horses and her dog, Teal.  She participates in barrel racing and enjoys attending competitions as often as possible.  Penelope grew up with large and small animals and has worked for small animal veterinary hospitals since 1999.  She enjoys the veterinary field and loves being able to work with animals. She and husband, Corey, love spending time with their children, Bailey and Wyatt. 

 

Terri Moehle, RVT is enjoying a second career at Coastside Veterinary Clinic. After receiving a BS in Soil Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CA., she had a successful 20 years career working as a soil scientist and horticulturist in California, Arizona and Texas.  In 2002 , she decided to follow her heart and do what she enjoys most, working with animals.  She started working as a veterinary nurse in Texas and simultaneously earned an associate degree in veterinary technology. After graduation, she returned to California were she sat for the board tests and is now both a California Registered Veterinary Technician and a NARVT. In her free time she enjoys doing anything outdoors - riding dressage, hiking, bicycling and gardening.  (Terri recently moved to Davis, CA with her husband Lincoln who works with a research seed company.) She is working at Acorn Veterinary Hospital for one of Dr. Lawson's classmates and friend Joy Jackman, DVM.) We miss her!!! She may sub for Penelope during Penelope's maternity leave.  

 

Julie Burns, Veterinary Assistant joined the practice three years ago as our Veterinary Assistant. She currently attends Canada Community College as a biology major and looks forward to continuing her studies in Veterinary Technology at Foothill Community College where she will earn her RVT Licensing. After Foothill, Julie plans to study Business at a local university. Julie and her family have lived on the Coastside since she was three years old. She has been involved in her local 4-H program where she raised livestock and competed at the county level. Julie is no longer a 4-H member, but is glad that she can still participate in the club as the sheep project leader. She also enjoys spending time with her two golden retrievers, Rusty and Kodiak.

 

Courtney Brookshire, Veterinary Assistant is currently taking online courses and is working towards her RVT license. She moved to the Bay Area in late 2010 with her wife Katie and son Atticus. Courtney was born and raised in San Diego where she worked in the San Diego Humane Society's Animal Care and Medical departments for 5 years. She loves music, reading, and board games. She also loves spending her free days with her son and going to dinner with her wife at the many amazing restaurants that San Francisco has to offer! She has two sweet cats named Bast and Cupid. Her dog Brigid, a Llasa Apso mutt, was adopted from San Diego Humane Society when she was just a wee fluff ball.

 

 Fiona Burr, Assistant is daughter to Dr. Lawson and Dr. Burr and currently attends San Francsisco State University as a design and business student. She is taking a semester to study Architecture in Australia at the University of Technology, Sydney. She grew up on the coast where she enjoyed horseback riding with friends and family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her Rat-Terrier named Earl and she also enjoys photography.

 

Amy Gorman, Assistant originally grew up in Leavenworth, Kansas and moved to the Bay Area when she was twelve. Amy graduated from California State University Channel Islands in 2009, with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and working with children. She also enjoys going to the dog park with her 2 year old Bouvier, named Tomo.

 

Becki Porzio was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to the Bay Area in 1985. She has lived in Half Moon Bay for 19 years and lives with her orange tabby, Peaches. She worked in the venture capital industry as EA/Office Manager for 25 years, and is now doing what her heart loves, working with animals. In Atlanta she owned and rode horses. She had a Calico, Tasha, for 21 years. She enjoys reading, taking walks/bicycling along the coastal trail and traveling.

 

Danielle Nakamura, Assistant has lived in Pacifica since 2001 with her husband Troy and their playful lab vizsla mix named Rusty. Danielle has an A.S. degree as a Medical Assistant and has worked as an EMT, nursing assistant and phlebotomist. She is also California State certified as a motocycle safety instructor and her hobbies include geneaology and riding motorcycles.
